Below I will show you what you will need to build your first website. Only steps 1 through 4 are needed but if you want to make money online then you will need steps 5 and 6.
Building your first website is not hard and it should be fun. The first thing you should do is think about what you want from your new website. Here are some good questions to ask yourself
- Am I just going to blog or do I want to make money online?
- What are my interest and what am I good at?
You should also think about who your site is targeting (What type of person will come to this site). If your plan is to just make money online than you have two options right now. You can sell your own products and services or you can sell other peoples products and services, this is known as Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is easy once you know how it works. After you build your site (A basic version) then you start filling it with products, services and information for your target market. If you are new to this it will take some time, remember that your website is always a work in progress and it will develop over time.
Once your website is built you will want to stat driving traffic (people) to your site. This is where google pay per click (PPC), search engine optimization (SEO) and other marketing methods come in. I will be adding a tutorial on how to use the previously mentioned tools, so please check back soon.

Step 1 – Domain Names
The first thing you need to do is find a name you like and see if it’s available. We like to register and keep all our names through one central place. The service that has worked best for us is Godaddy, try to stay with one . All you have to do is pick a name you think you like then go to Godaddy and search to see if it’s available. Once you find one you should buy it because they don’t last long!

Step 2 – Web Hosting
After you have your name you need web hosting. We recommend PowWeb for four simple reasons.

Step 3 – Instant Site Launch / Content Management / Blog Software
This is the software that we use to run this site. It is the quickest and easiest way to launch a web site that is Web 2.0-ready, and It’s FREE. WordPress is the platform that you build your site on. I will be adding some videos and audio presentations soon that will show you how to us these resources. WordPress comes pre-integrated with powWeb so if you choose to use powWeb you can activate WordPress with just a few clicks in your PowWeb control panel. Once you activate WordPress you can log-in and start building your website (This is the fun part). Don’t forget to bookmark (Add to your favorites) all of these important sites onec you have signed up, there is nothing worse then not being able to find your log-in page! Once WordPress is installed you can normally log-in by going to ===> http://WebsiteName.com/wp-admin <=== be sure to put .com or whatever you choice for you ending and your website name. Now that you have a Name, Hosting, and WordPress installed it’s time for the custom look and feel. Lets add some themes, see the next section.

Step 4 – Wordpress Themes

- Suffusion – This is the theme that FullserviceREI.com is built on. It has allot of options and it’s FREE
- iThemes
There are some great Theme and Template resource for your Wordpress Site, you should have no problem finding something that fits your vision. To find some free templates log-in to your WordPress dashboard, look on the left hand side and go to appearance then to add new themes. This will take you to the WordPress theme directory where you can browse hundreds of themes and try them out (They are all free) just find one you like then install it right from there. If you want a very professional theme that is coded well, take a look at the resources I have listed above. Now that you have your Name, Hosting, WordPress installed and your theme lets look at building your email list.

Step 5 – Email List Management
This is one of the most important tools for running a profitable Internet business. Your email list is one of your most important assets and it’s critical to use the right service to manage it. Aweber is the standard used by Internet marketers. The way you will engage and interact with your market is through email. Step 6 – Shopping Cart / Payment services
With 1shoppingCart you can automate your website sales, digital product delivery, ad tracking, credit card processing, recurring billing, affiliate program and all your other e-commerce activities. This service is used by many of the top Internet marketers. PayPal is known world wide for its ease of use, low prices and security. Both choices will work great. Note: If you are just doing affiliate marketing then you wont need to accept payment on your website in the begging. Most if not all affiliate programs will handle that for you, all you have to do is drive traffic to those sites. If you just want to sell affiliate products then I recommend you start by using the resources below.

Now that you have your site up and running you can start adding affiliate products to your list of tools by visiting the sites above.
